Low Calorie Homemade Oatmeal Treats 

I have created a few healthy oatmeal treat recipes below, which you can easily make at home.

When purchasing oatmeal, ensure it is cooked, plain, no sugar or flavorings before giving to your dog. I recommend purchasing organic oatmeal as it is higher in nutritional value, and will provide your dog with the maximum health benefits, compared to commercially prepared oatmeal. It is much safer for your dog because it won't contain any pesticides, chemicals or fewer desirable ingredients. Whereas instant brands of oatmeal are likely to contain the ingredients that your trying to avoid. 

Raspberry and Blueberry Oatmeal Cookies


  • 1/4 Cup rolled oats
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 1 Tablespoon of honey 
  • 1 Cup whole wheat flour 
  • 4 oz Apple blueberry puree baby food
  • 1 Tablespoon mashed raspberries 
  • 1 Tablespoon mashed blueberries


  1. Preheat oven to 350F degrees. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium sized bowl, combine apple blueberry baby food, mashed blueberries, mashed raspberries, flour, rolled oats and honey and mix together. 
  3. Place dough on a lightly floured surface, and kneed. 
  4. Roll out into a 1/2-inch. Then using your desired cookie cutters to cut out the shapes. Place the shapes onto the prepared baking tray.
  5. Lightly brush the tops of the shapes with a beaten egg wash. Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes, until the cookies are a golden color.

Hypoallergenic Banana Oatmeal Treats


  • 1 Ripe banana 
  • 1 Cup Oatmeal
  • 2 Tablespoons of coconut oil
  • 1/2 Tablespoon of cinnamon 


  1. Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl. Then set this aside for 10 minutes.
  2. Preheat oven to 350F.
  3. Lightly grease a cookie sheet.
  4. Take 1 tablespoon of the mixture and form it into a ball. Then place on a lightly greased cookie sheet and flatten slightly.
  5. Bake for 15 minutes, until browned on the bottoms.
